TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I doubt you'll have much luck. The only options that actually fit properly are Sawyer and Evernew - the latter being nearly impossible to find and certainly not locally.

You might be better off just using the one Sawyet dirty water bag and holding clean water in other containers.

There are bottles - just buy the Sawyer ones. They are probably the best and strongest on the market anyway.

I've just modded my own bottle (aqua essence) to take 5mm tube for a gravity fed squeeze. If you want photos I'm happy to oblige.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.

Well Sawyer use the standard thread found on most soft drink bottles etc. but yeah only they and Evernew seem to make soft bottles with said thread. Platypus of course are the worst since their thread looks like it will work but leaks.

Sorry Strider im talking about the receiving end of the water so not needed for squeezing. I was hoping to go buy a couple from the local hiking shop <sigh>

I think this might be the short term solution bring one bottle with me and then fill others from there.

As a side note how do you guys get your water into the squeeze bag? I know you can put it in another bottle and then tip it in but this would then contaminate yet another bottle.

Thanks

Must admit I havent used it that much but I use a nalgene bottle with the top cut off. Similar to the system in this video.
You could also get something like a 2-way bottle connector to make it easy to attach a bottle at the receiving end. Also handy for using a bottle/bag for back-flushing.

+1 the cut-off Nalgene cantene or large milk jug. This way also has the benefit of allowing you to see if there's any gunk in the water.

I take a disposable plastic or paper cup for scooping water out of a stream and pouring into the squeeze bag. It fits around the base of something cylindrical in my side pocket so doesn't get squashed. I don't contaminate my drinking mug.

A cut off Nalgene squashy bottle with the wide base is a good idea as it'd fold flat. I have one of these but don't want to cut it up, as I use the wide mouthed container for when I use a Steripen (because they don't fit in a Platy or an Evernew bag)
We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box
