TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Big Agnes, Force 10 & Sierra designs experience

Hi
I'm looking to buy a one man (or very light weight two man) hiking tent and have been looking at a few brands.
I'm interested to know peoples experiences using the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1, the Force 10 Helium 100 or the Sierra designs Lightning 2 FL in Australia.
If any one has one of these tents or has any suggestions your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
charles

Charles
Here is a review of the Helium 200,
I would avoid the 100 unless you are quite short.

Ive got a Big Agnes FlyCreek UL2 and love it - 1134 g and easy to pitch. Its fair to say you need to be good friends to use it as a 2 person - but as a luxury 1 person I love the weight and pitch. It'll be my home on the AAWT from mid November.

Hi I purchase a Force 10 helium 200 about six months and cannot erect the tent. I asked someone more experienced and they could not either. I purchase from Cotswold (England) because there was not stock in Australia at the time. It appears that the two short end poles are too long or don't seem to fit. I have been told by manufacturer they are correct size and I should follow sequence of erecting the tent as shown in the manual. I did and still could not end the two end short poles to fit. I live in Sydney, is there anyone out there who can please show me how to erect the tent. I can travel to your location. Thanks

There's a video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1Xi7I8Vsq_c) for the helium 100 but it shows the same thing for the little pole. I have a helium 200. Those end poles are a bit tight but they go in with a bit of a shove. They have different ends - the fatter slightly domed end goes in the little sleeve at the top and the skinnier end goes in the ring at the bottom.
