TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

How does one set up the moment DW in wet weather?

The ground is wet, so when you put your backpack on it gets wet?

I got a aether 75 and i find it hard fitting it inside!

Try using a pack cover, lightweight drybag or a Tyvek tarp for under your tent and vestibule.

The Moment DW is one of those few tents that you set up fly and inner together.
That is generally seen as an advantage when it rains because the inner does not get wet,
Apart from that I am not sure I understand the difference (re backpack getting wet during set up ) between it and other tents.

Reading it again I think that what you meant is that the pack does not fit inside the vestibule when the tent is set up (?)
If that is the case , you can slide the floor further towards the other door so that you have one larger vestibule .

If you intended to have the pack inside on the floor with you, then better to empty some of the content onto the floor next to the mat and store the pack at one end .
That will not work all that well if you are over 185cm or so or if you use a 63cm wide mat.

I have the second iteration of the Tarptent Moment with the mesh inner and the clipped in liner, but the overall size/configuration is similar to your DW version. I use a Tyvek ground sheet cut a little shy of the outer, so I can park my ULA Circuit, (with its silnylon pack cover on when necessary), in the vestibule where it has always managed to stay dry, save for a few wind blown drops of water here and there. When the weather has deteriorated, I have sometimes thrown my Circuit into the inner and then either pushed it to one side or down to one end, depending on the direction of the prevailing wind (and rain). It works. My Moment is four and half years old now and I often use it when I am soloing, including during winter. The only caveat, if you have the mesh inner version, is to watch where you pitch it when it is wet and windy. I was up on the Southern Range last week and although there was a gale blowing off the south coast and it did become a little breezy inside the Moment on a couple of nights, I was still warm and dry. Get a piece of Tyvek and cut a matching ground sheet for your DW covering the inner and both vestibules and you and your Osprey will be fine (and dry).
