On line special and I can't get to try them on
Can anybody comment of the generosity of the current Macpac sizing?
I've always been an XL but lately I've been finding XL a little tighter than they should be
Are the Prophet series cut generously to go over multiple layers
I need new winter overpants and I can just afford the clearance price on the XXL and they will do I expect until I find proper B&B in my size

Only XXL are left until the new ones come in stock and the price is low enough to get me hooked but I really need them to be a generous size as I can swell to be a 107 waist by the end of Autumn and I'd want them to fit over my longjohns and mid layer

I'd call them pretty true to size

Then an XXL isn't going to fit loose enough to layer under them

Exactly the same problem as I have with my OR Neoplume pants and my Hard-Yakka work pants in an X-Large swim on me

And I just figured out why, they must be using Unisex sizing, so they really are a mens XL not a mens XXL

I've noticed that the amount of fabric used in rainwear appears to have been reduced over the years.
I upgraded my decades old Macpac reflex coat and rain pants this year.
I had to buy bigger sizes as the newer medium seems nothing like the old sizing.
I got a large in the coat and XL in the pants but am a little unhappy with the length of the pants.
They seem too long, whilst the waist was a bit tight.
My gut has expanded over the years but I wouldn't have thought my legs have shrunk.
Its not a biggie as I do my best to avoid wet weather generally.
I've yet to use the pants as its been a pretty dryish winter compared to some.
I'm hoping that my newish Scarpa Kaliesh boots are fat enough to not allow the pants to hit the ground at my heels.
Your thread has reminded me I need to check this out.
If I hadn't bought some Resolution AP Pants I'd have tempted at those Prophet pants myself as I like the look of the braces

I never trust any Macpac sizes, on some items they make a different colour of something for the new season and the sizing is different but the design is the same. Plus all my Macpac gear has been pretty much trash and they go through staff like crazy so no-one seems to know much about their stuff so I no longer shop there.

I bought some Gore Tex rain pants for $35 from the Army disposals, turns out I am much happier with wet legs, lasted 10 minutes on the OLT but it would be different if it was cold I guess.

I think I'll just wait until the ALDI winter sale and buy a pair of the shell pants
I'll get change out of a hundred dollar note
