Liking the look of this one. Anyone have any comments/problems/likes/dislikes. After a 4 season2 man tent that is a bit lighter than the current accommodation. Being able to pitch outer only also appeals.

Just reading the page I see that they offer both mesh for summer and fabric for winter options
I like that but I can't comment on suitability for our heavy wet snow

Hi Lizzy, these guys had massive supply issues and really upset some people who waited what seemed like forever for their tents. I don't know if that has been resolved. It probably has but it may be prudent to google some reviews or delivery information before you commit your hard earned.

I'm sure others here may be aware of any issues beyond what I have mentioned.

Good thing I have no money as I really like the look of that thing and the weight makes it sooooo tempting. Plus they do red.

NNW if I hadn't bought the other tent I'd been eyeing off for ages I'd be all over this too (and I also really like the red). Ticks all the boxes.

Hi Lizzy

We bought one of these from Backpacking Light a couple of weeks ago and used it for 3 out of 5 nights on the Overland Track last week. Lots of people had tent envy. It is light and incredibly spacious for the weight. We're both over 6ft and didn't know what to do with all the space!

We only took two poles and a mesh inner for weight and it stood up well to some very unpleasant weather - strong winds in quite an exposed site with heavy rain - despite missing the 3rd pole. It swayed a bit but a third pole and pitching with pegs (not on a tent platform!) would fix that. It kept us warm in 3 season down bags despite low single digit temperatures, although I could feel the wind whistling through the mesh!!

The outer first pitch is great and it is very very quick to throw up, useful if it's *&%$#! cold out! Nice big porches for gear storage or cooking in, and two entrances are useful for not getting in each other's way.

My only watch outs from initial use are that it is very difficult to keep the inner dry when getting in and out in very wet conditions, and that being ultralight it is delicate so would recommend a footprint for it. Oh, and a minor one - that lovely lightweight floor is very slippery indeed so silly as we thought they were, get some of those ties for keeping your sleeping mats together to avoid it slipping out from under you when you roll over.

Hope you enjoy the tent!

Trish

Go Lizzy! I'd have gone for the red too :D but I couldn't convince myself I needed it :?

If I may ask, what does it end up costing in $AU (presuming you went through Massdrop)?

cheers

Peter

I'm sure you'll only have to take him out in it once to convince him it was a brilliant idea ;)
