Waiting to see what the freight charge will be, as accompanied freight it should be cheaper, a mate brought his full sized surfboard back from California last year and it only cost him $300- and that was much bigger than these will be Then it's a matter of how many in the box divided by the cost
Each additional sled makes the box 100mm higher I think. that information is sketchy at the sites I'm visiting
if anybody has additional info please let us know
After talking to Qantas a second time it looks like we can bring them home as luggage but it would mean me only having a carry-on and a very small bag
Of course we can pack extra stuff inside the cardboard box and we will need to declare at Customs but as the sale cost is quite low we shouldn't need to pay duty
But that does mean we are limited to 6 sleds and we already have takers for all of them
If we bring back as excess baggage the cost is $175- at the airport, so 175/6 = $30- a sled which is a heck of a lot cheaper than airmail or DHL courier
