TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I have a MSR Hubba Hubba. I have been using it extensively, never have any problems setting up or taking it down. There is there metal tube came with the tent. Until recently I want to get a bivy, and find it also comes with a tube. What is it for anyone knows?

It may be the tent pole splint to repair a broken tent pole in the field.

Ah. After search tent pole splinter, I know what it is for now. I have actually never taken it with me camping. It will go where the tent goes from now on. Cheers.

I had a pole break once, not a good feeling as it was raining heavily at the time. My Hubba Hubba also came with the pole splint. I instantly knew what it was for.
I also inspect my poles for splitting or cracking near the ends.

As well as the pole repair sleeve its handy to have some electical tape in the kit to secure the repair sleeve on the broken pole in the required location. Cheers
