TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hey folks
I'm a luxury camper, currently stuck on having a tent plus a tarp setup for a base camp. This week I received the Darche alloy pole 90cm - 2.3m $25 from Wildearth.
So today I stopped at Aldi and grabbed a brochure.
From the picture the exact same pole is $12 this Saturday.
My Darche weighs in at 450g. For the price and height adjustability I think it is great compared to an MSR or Luxe pole per weight.
Go shopping!
Great for car camping, suit with a pyramid style tent. You can't always rely on trees to pitch your tarp... I just like having a verandah.
You can also use a twist tarp pole just like a walking pole, again, a cheaper option!

Correction Saturday 10th.
Here's me playing with my setup at a mates, using a Coi two piece pole.

Nice.
I am a fan of the added vestibule idea.
Extra shade or rain protection when the weight is not that important, leave it at home when it is.

Ya with this setup my 'luxury' base weight including tarp, pole and chair is at 10.5kg. I think I can get that down to 8.5 by upgrading the tent, pad and tarp when finances permit. Maybe further by taking only the inner tent or a bug tent in fair weather. Cheers.
