Just read and an ad in the pos vac section in the Advocate for a store manager /assistant sm and sales staff for a new Devonport Store.
Interesting move in light of the BPB relinguishing the Snow Gum franchise.

Yeah- I saw that. I've only ever used their stuff for casual street wear- no guts to it IMHO.

Good to hear.
I've always been very happy with everything I have bought there. It's not top of the range stuff but at half price it's good value IMO. At full price it's mostly a rip off.

Only if I can have every Fri,Sat,Sun,Mon off and they pay at least for 38 hours at $30.00 per hour with a fully maintained current model Forester top of the range and a fit nubile driver who would also double as my pack carrier cook and washer up.
I am a definite cert to get this job EH!!

Forester?! You drive a Subaru Forester?
Oh. Dear. Me.
That explains a lot.

Yes been there done that with BIG real 4WD Toyota's (actually OWNED 4 Cruisers in the past )and at my stage in life with a couple of grown up well adjusted kids don't need to be Macho and drive a HiLux HOON ute to prove masculinity/boganinity or whatever

It's not about size or style, corbie, it's about drivability.
Maybe I'm just prejudiced, but I've never yet seen a Forester whose driver knew what he/she was doing, especially on winding roads. They're the modern Volvo.
As for the Hilux, you try carrying a full load of tech diving gear, along with all the camping, walking and caving equipment, in something smaller. Especially in places like the Nullabor.

I think I may have driven real 4WD vehicles for many more years than you so have a good idea as to what they can do and where they can go and as I don't go into the Nullabor or carry diving gear nor am I a Tradie I don't need the HUGE Carbon Footprint of a Gas Guzzling Big 4WD Ute now
As for cornering in a Forester you must be basing your judgement on the lack of cornering ability of your Hi Luxe which from experience performs like wallowing Hippo at any speed on corners .
Till you have experienced at least a couple of years in your 4WD and or have checked out the versatility of my Humble 5 star safe family wagon dont chuck exrement at the Forester

It's more about the driver than the car, corbie. The worst place in the world to be on a winding road is behind a Forester. Especially if it has Victorian plates. (At least I can absolve you of that crime.)
As for 'gas-guzzling', the beast is a Diesel, so it actually uses less fuel than my old smaller engined 2WD. It handles quite well - certainly I can take it through corners better than I've seen anyone do with a Forester. And I do need to carry around a lot of heavy, bulky gear, so the Hilux is about practicality rather than trying to prove my (non-existent) masculinity - which you, I am beginning to think, attempt to do via your over-aggressive responses to quite harmless posts.
(why do some people have such thin skins?)

Lol - horses for courses I say. Forester is a great car for what it's designed for (Ie Covus' needs), Hilux is also good at what it does (Scavengers needs). To face off the two head to head is ridiculous. Having driven both I can see both have their own, very different, niche.
I guess maybe bad drivers are attracted to Foresters seem they are a safe car, if so I applaude them. I would hate to see more bad drivers driving around in 4x4 battering rams like Hiluxs. There are plenty of good Forester drivers and bad Hilux drivers and visa versa, stereotyping is stupid. Unless maybe it's a big island thing, I haven't driven much over there.
Besides you are both so wrong - give me a real car anyday - make it a Mitsubishi
Not sure how this is relevant to a Devonport Kathmandu store however?

Oh yeah, I'm feeling the heat so much I'm wearing thermals and am snuggled up in a quilt, drinking hot soup.
Anyway, dee's right - this is a bit off topic. We wouldn't want to annoy our delightful moderators, would we?

Yes, and now I'm trying to hint subtly that all this 'last word' bull is ridiculously juvenile, that it's gone on too long and we should at least pretend to be sufficiently mature to leave it behind us.
