TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Macpac backpack stay broken

Tue 27 Sep, 2016 11:58 am

My 15 year-old Macpac overnight pack has a vertical aluminium stay broken, about 10cm down from the top. A few experienced walkers present were confident Macpac would cover it under a warranty. Thoughts?

I'm not confident... viewtopic.php?f=15&t=23901&p=308466&hilit=macpac+warranty#p308466

I agree with both Franco and wayno.

Talk to Macpac and if that doesn't work, a replacement piece of aluminium to match will be easy to get at most hardware stores.

Matching the stiffness will be the key.

if you do have to replace one, I'd say do both. the only person I know who didn't get a warranty repair from macpac is an instructor I know who was told after the 12-15th repair that he had gotten the last one. his pack is very, very old.
