Does such a tent exist ??

Hello all..
I have looked and looked but cannot find a tent that meets my wants..

I am basically looking for something similar in design to a MSR Hubba Hubba but must be an integral pitch and under 2kg.

I have an Exped Venus 2 which is basically my ideal tent, however at 2.8kg, is just a little too heavy for my liking..

Seems all the mid 1kg tents are inner pitch

So, 2 person, twin vestibule, integral pitch and under 2kg.... any ideas ??

Take a look at the new Tarptent Bowfin and imagine a 2 person version.
Is that close ?

Um....what are you expecting from the tent weather wise?

Zpacks make some fantastic Cuban tents - I have a hexamid twin, which doesn't suit your profile, but is a fantastic 3 season tent. They have subsequently expanded their range, and I think ere is mine with twin vestibules etc.

However, whilst this might be great and light for specific 3 season trips, if you want a full on winter tent that will withstand heavy snowfall, then I suspect you'll be pushing it with an ultralight.

I'm lucky enough to to have a selection of tents, which I can choose from dependent on season, weather forecast and expectations.

im afraid there just isn't a tent perfect for everything, but, you should be able to find a tent pretty well perfect for your specific uses.

How about the Hubba Hubba NX. Less than 2kg and can be pitched fly first (not integral pitch).

Have you considered a Tarptent Scarp 2?

Yes, I was looking at exactly such a tent online earlier this week.

Big Sky International Chinook 2P Tent

However, I think I like the Big Sky International Chinook IP Tent even better. Although smaller, it is lighter and unusually for a 1P tent it has two vestibules and entrances.

Some good suggestions there thanks guys..

This will be our 3 season tent..

My Venus 2 is the 4 season "extreme" version and has done well in snow for us.. but it "too much" for 3 season use i.e. too heavy..

Will take a closer look at the models posted above.. the Scarp 2 looks interesting...

Any local dealers ?? or just order direct..

The BSI tents are sold locally by BackpackingLight in Melbourne and I think a couple of other shops BPL deals with.
Tarptent is sold directly from Nevada City , California.

BTW, all Tarptents are fly first/integral pitch.
