I recently purchased a Sawyer Squeeze from a camping/hiking store in SA and can confirm the thread is compatible with a mount franklin water bottle.

Thanks for the confirmation. Most small bottle threads should fit.

You will need to unscrew it frequently to let air back into the bottle, though. Much easier to use a flexible pouch.
