I would like some fingerless gloves, does anyone know of a maker?

Hold on, they need to be wool/merino for use near flames, fingerless for dexterity and thin like liner gloves.

No luck yet checking in stores and searching online, Icebreaker do a fingerless but is a blended fabric.

You can have my old silk liner gloves Just cut them down and restitch I wear a Large/a 9-9 1/2 usually

Wondered about fiddly restitching or just see how they fray.
Could cut the tips off my icebreakers and pick up some full Aldi ones next autumn!
Current thick fingerless are OK but lost the pointer finger this season, soon the thumbs.

I've got a pair of fingerless merino/possum for fishing in cold weather - great gloves but don't know how the possum blend would affect them regarding the fire safety. Lots of fishing tackle stores (in Tassie anyway) have them.

Ta, all a little thicker than I was thinking of.

Can get $10 thinish knit wool at aussie disposals.
Now thinking to get a darning kneedl and keep these ones. Darn it

Was killing time in Katoomba so checked out the MacPac store.

No I'm not paying the 'special' price of $30 for theirs. Actually I don't own anything MacPac yet...

Over the years I have owned a lot of fingerless gloves and a lot of UL liners gloves too.
I don't recall ever burning or melting any of them and I do still use wood fires/ wood stoves and on occasion my flamethrower XGK-EX as well as the small gas stoves
Maybe I've been lucky but I prefer to think of myself as careful
Is there a local CWA branch? Find a person who can knit well and tight and pay them to knit a custom pair in your preferred yarn.
Be prepared to pay quite a bit of money for the yarn and I'd say time was worth at least $25- an hour, it is after all highly skilled work

I seem to singe my wool ones slightly when warming hands on a flame.
(forgot I do have MacPac feather booties)

When I've actually wanted a set of gloves fully fingerless I've just cut the ends off of some older gloves that already had some holes worn in the ends of one or more fingers. I could never see spending extra money for gloves without fingers. It would be like paying for jeans that have been pre-worn with holes in the knees.

Fraying does occur to some extent, depending on the material and weave. As that happens, snip, cauterize, or sew (if you have the patience).

The stove usually causes some damage to the fingertips in my glove liners over time, but I'm not sure why the stove would an issue with fingerless gloves.

Had a major blowout so went for a pair of Lothlorian. 50% merino 40% possum and 10% nylon.

So those particular possum gloves started to wear pretty quickly then went missing.

Got a pair of $10 synthetics with some Thinsulate, they lasted the winter but worn out fingers where you grip stuff. Still wearable.

Today picked up a pair of XTM 100% polyester liner gloves from Paddy's for ten bucks. Marked the first knuckle above the fingernails, cut the tips off and sealed gently with a cigarette lighter. Pretty stoked ATM, for a mid-season glove
