pack length question

I had myself measured yesterday for a new pack. It turns out I am spot on "medium".

The packs I am looking at come in S/M or M/L. Both are ~36l to be used for long day walks up to 30k. Both are Osprey - Manta and Stratos.

So my question is are there any reasons to pick one length over the other? At this stage after trying on both lengths in both packs I am leaning ever so slightly towards the longer (M/L) Manta.

Thanks in advance.

Ken

Hipbelt size and shoulder strap length are both proportional to backlength on these packs. If you are a larger build go for the longer backlength if both fit suitably.

Adding to what Strider posted, the M/L will be more suited if you want to layer anything under the pack, and might also be slightly larger (many packs vary 2-5L between sizes)
