TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

The Evolution of Walking Gear

G'day all - I've been walking for a few decades now, and have a slightly wry attitude towards "improvements" in walking gear. That said, I'm also a closet gear-freak (how many of us here are NOT?) and often can't resist the call of the wild (new gear). I've just posted a piece on my blog reflecting on how my gear has changed over the years. It's at http://auntyscuttle.blogspot.com/2009/1 ... ducks.html

I'd love to hear what evolutionary changes others have observed/experienced in their walking careers.

cheers
