Having just lost my last pair of walking glasses (don't put them in the bottle pocket kids!) I'm after some new ones. They were excellent Cancer Council ones I got in Port Douglas, but I kept them solely for walking.
I have always (twenty five or so years) bought from the Cancer Council and paid about $30-50 for excellent polarised specs. I will likely do the same but thought I would see here if anyone has a reco that fits my needs.
Please don't tell me about the ones you got from the servo no matter how good they are I can't try them on.
Or that you don't need them because ..... I do after varied surgery on my retinas.
Most Chemists don't carry the Cancer Council ones anymore around here (Q'Land was a dream for buying sunnies) going for the cheaper ones they can extract more profit on these days.
Surfers eyes (and ears for that matter) are my curse.

I need slightly larger lenses than normal and a slightly wider arm that wrap softly around the face, not the really hard curve please, also not after the covering on the arm side as my hat/hood does that work.
Not needed for snow but I have used my others (I go through a couple of pairs a year) on snow in NZ and they were fine.
The ones I had also had the lens firmly wedged into the frame-some tend to pop out. So not liable to pop out if bumped.
I lost a lens on the AAWT a while back with my driving pair and spent half an hour looking for the effen thing. Gave up.
Happy to hear about Cancer council ones but I would need the model please as I would probably order them online. Don't care about the gender as long as the other specs are met. Just maybe not the George Costanza flashy type though.
I think I can still go into Macpac and the Katman but having looked at their stuff it doesn't look promising. Seems over priced average glasses. If there is anything there that may work. I won't pay hundreds so they're out as well. The Cancer Council ones are very high quality and recommended by my Opthalmologist.

I can recommend the red-black frameless model in the following link (one of the choices). Uber lightweight with full coverage for dim as well as full sun use. Great for road cycling as well as bushwalks.

It's good to see they still do a few of the old style ear-hanger sunnies amongst all the wraparound styles. I can't wear wraparounds as they give me splitting headaches, but they seem to be ubiquitous these days.

Yeah, I've rung them a few times. Not any use. All they can tell you is if the item is in stock. I bought two of my last three pairs direct from their website.
Yep, not on the wraparounds either -that's what I was trying to get at with not wanting the aggressive curve-feel like they are crushing your/my head.
My lost ones had a nice gentle curve. Perfect.
I know one thing-when you find good sunnies buy two pair. I always do.

Assuming you have plenty of photos with the old ones?? That would help in matching a new pair.

When we're let out of jail.... head to the CC Shop in St Kilda Road and stock up. Also check your health insurance, if you have insurance. My partner's extras with AHM allow him to spend $250/year on Cancer Council products and be fully reimbursed. Maximum $50 per item, and coincidentally most of their sunnies/hats are $49.95.

One piece lense, light not tight, maybe $20 but not polarized.
I like the brown ones.

Glorfy are unbreakable but the lens is very poor optically. Remember Le Specs? Good optics and seem Le tuff enough

For reasons that are not entirely clear to me, Cancer Council sunglasses are actually quite hard to find in any reasonable selection despite having lots of styles on their website.

The best selection I found was during the summer sailes in David Jones Melbourne of all places and I promptly bought 4 pairs!

I have seen them in Chemist Warehouse in a limited range of styles, might be worth checking your closest one.

Thanks. Yep, had the Bolle safeties. Quite good but again an -aggressive curve and uncomfy after a while. Ta. Was looking at some this arvo.

Yep when I can find them as mentioned I buy multiples. CW pretty useless here. Every Chemist I go past and check out their stock some good- some poor. Will keep an eye out. Ta

Believe it or not the first pair is closer than a pair of Raybans in size to what I lost. Just that bit too chunky though. I reckon I might snag them on a branch. Always seem to walking head first into branches lately. I will keep an eye on them.

Bought exactly what I was after (the ones I lost) from 'justsunnies' in Q'land. Excellent specs and service over the phone. Posted quickly.
