Quality Replacement Boot Laces

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Quality Replacement Boot Laces

Any suggestions on durable replacement boot laces?
Ebay jobs haven't seemed to last very long. Not happy with the laces on my new boots and looking for round laces that can survive the gaiter hook and scrub work for more than a few walks.
Happy to pay a few extra bucks for something that will last.

Lawson Iron Wire would work well or some dyneema cord.

Workwear supplier or possibly a saddlery? Army disposals?

Do you have an old-school shoe repairer in your area, they sometimes stock accessories.

Durability comes at the price of the knot undoing easier.
Sounds like you need some climbing cord utilizing a reef knot tie off instead of a bow and double lock

I have some from Asolo. Appear to be the same quality as the originals. Good balance between durability ease of tying, and holding a knot.

AS others have said, something like Iron Wire will be super durable but will fall well short in other areas.

Perhaps a bit of work on the gaiter hooks to smooth off the edges may be a start.

Try replacing the boot with some KT-26s. They have very good laces.

If white is alright, starter cord works as good as any (iv'e found). For both laces, in most cases, as welll as for gaiter locators.
(just buy the tightly woven stuff, from a brand mower shop, not bunnings)
