Tent repairs Melbourne region

Hi all,

Recently took a trip away with the family, and on our return we had the tent set up in the backyard to dry out and clean. In the process the tent was picked up by a massive gust of wind and sent flying against the fence, which tore a hole through the fly and the inner mesh, both approx 20cm in length.

I'm wondering what the best course of action is for repair? The tent is a Mont moondance Ex, so not a cheapie. Professional repair, or DIY?

1) Does anyone know of any tent repairers in the Melbourne region or in VIC?

OR

2) Is this something I could tackle myself (I am a proficient sewer and have a good sewing machine)?

Many thanks in advance :)

Remote Repairs are in Melbourne, and about the best in the business.

Remote are good but for a small tear of 200mm I'd also think about Tenacious tape, both sides.

Hi, I’m unfortunately in a similar situation with one large tear and a smaller tear and was wanting to look at repairs. Does anyone know how expensive rip repairs are? Thanks

Small repairs may be done with a standard sewing machine. I had a guest over Christmas, probably a possum, and he or she ate through the wall of my tent, fixed on the trip with an island dressing and at home with a nylon patch. The difficulty is obtaining the fabric, often ripstop. Mesh is another matter, quite hard.

Hey!

Prehaps Mont customer service could help with a recommendation? I know One Planet do all their tent repairs in house. Otherwise I'd try Finn Industries in Coburg way, I've had much better experiences with them compared to remote - they are also the official repairer for many imported brands https://www.finnindustries.com.au/repairs
