Delete if not allowed/ or unnecessary

My issue:
Tongue is rubbing on inside of ankle and irritating. - the tongue is sagging to one side and not flat or however symmetrical it should be

example attached (although photo from the internet, my boots are actually leather)

Brains trust. what should I do?

i HAVE tried softer lacing, bending the tongue but its not working and i just want a comfortable boot. people say blisters will come and that will solve the issue or maybe thicker socks.

Tape in the effected area works for me, tearable zinc oxide tape

Trailmix, you don't say if just the one or both L and R boots have this problem. I'm wondering if there is a manufacturing fault in the boot, especially if you have not had this problem previously with other boots or shoes. I bought a fairly expensive pair of boots last year and had exactly the same problem. The retailer was insisting without even seeing the boot that the problem was due to the shape of my foot, howevet I thought that it was strange that I had never had this problem before. But persistence paid off and I got a replacement pair and guess what: the problem disappeared, the first pair being returned to the distributor for refund.

I used to have this problem with boots partly due to the different sizes and shapes of the left and right feet and ankles. Changing to a heel-lock lacing system fixed it.
