TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hi
Given a poster's recent unfavourable experience with an eVent product I am curious how my new eVent mittens will perform in Tassie's typical conditions. The Gore-tex version of mittens appear to work extremely well for most people so I am interested to see how eVent performs given how grubby my hands get at times and how much my gloves abrade using walking poles.
Once used I will give a report as to whether the subject line is correct.
Cheers Brett

Brett,
Just a tip regarding the seam sealing. Once the seams are dry, give them the once over with talcum powder.
I left mine hanging for 3 days and then checked them out, nice tidy job too. Then, I put them in my kit drawer placed one on top of the other. A few days later I took them out, and the seams had adhered to each other - pulling them apart removed the sealer from the opposite side, so I have to redo parts of the seal job

Hi Michael
Thanks for that tip. I have now got them in my hot big hands and like the design already. They are certainly light so no need to consider leaving them out if the weather is not forecasted to be nasty. The drop wrist design appears to be a perfect match to the the angle of your pacer poles so it will be interesting to see how they work with the more upright grip on my Black Diamond poles. Now looking forward to winter to test them out along with other wet weather gear I have been accumulating over summer sales.
Cheers Brett
