TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I'm in the middle of buying a lighter weight sleeping Bag/Quilt. I have always used bags in the past and have only become familiar with the option of quilts in the last few months since researching lightweight gear. I currently have a Mont Nadgee which I have been fairly happy with. It is very warm. Probably too warm for up here in Queensland and it weighs just under 1.5kg including the stuff sack. I am considering my options to try and get something with around a 0 - 4 deg rating and as light as possible. So far at the top of my list is as follows:
1. Golite Ultralite 1+ Season Down Quilt: On sale at campsaver atm for $167usd. This is a bit heavier than other options but is also wider. However, I'm a little worried about whether it will be warm enough. People seem to be really happy with the older Ultra 20+ quilt from golite but I can't find much info on the newer ones.
2. JacksRBetter Shenandoah: Slightly more expensive. Not as wide. But lighter. Does anyone know how long they usually take to ship? Do they keep stock or make to order. I have sent an email and am waiting for a reply. This one may not be warm enough either.
3. WM Highlite/Summerlight: Fair bit more expensive. I had a go inside a highlite on the weekend and it was pretty tight. Very light though and the summerlight should be warmer than all the other options for around the same weight as the golite.
4. Nunatek stuff: Looks really nice but very expensive and a long lead time.
Any other options or opinions are appreciated. I'm hoping to stay under 600grams. The golite is probably my most favoured option atm because of the price.

Thanks Lizzy for that excellent suggestion. I think that is the one I am going to go for. The only other options that I would probably get instead are the Nunatek Specialist quilt or the Nunatek Catabatic Bag but for $399usd and $369usd respectively I can't justify that much atm. Plus a 6 - 8 week lead time.
If anyone else is interested I've compiled a bit of a spreadsheet of the main options I was considering including conversions from imperial to metric for the measurements and weights.
