As a newbie to this forum and lightweight camping, I am looking for advice on a 2 person, reasonable weight, reasonable price multipitch tent.

Some I have looked at:

-Eureka Moonshadow duo
-Mountain Hard wear Lightpath 2
-Macpac Macrolight

I think these should be ok for 1 or 2 night walks sleeping solo or with the wife.

Any thoughts?

You've probably got something already and discovered that the Microlight was a non-starter for two. But if you're still in the market, SWT still hasn't locked his Macpac Minaret (thread Title), from a couple of weeks ago.
Presently $525 new (Winter "Sale") but perhaps not as sturdy as earlier series models, as they trim for weight.

The Macpac Macrolite Walk -n-Fish listed is a two person shelter
.As for the lighter weight of the new Minaret, one could assume that the weight saving is at the expense of strength but in reality the 30d sil is stronger ( and more expensive...) than the previous fabric.
Take a look at the Wilderness Equipment tents for example.
The First Arrow is still available in 75d ripstop polyester((3.54kg) in the "bushwalking "section , described as the economical version of the 30d sil (3.39kg) listed under Expedition/Alpine.
The same was true when Lightwave also had the same model in sil and polyester. The sil was lighter but the one recommended by Carol McDermott (the designer) for harsher environment.

What is your intended use of the tent? This will help us to give you ideas of what to look for.

Have you considered tarptent? They are definitely lightweight and reasonably priced atm. But not strictly multipitch.

Walk-n-Fish,
Have a look at the TT Scarp 2 it is a good roomy 2 person lightweight multipitch, mine only weighs 1.786kg (with 2 extra guy lines and pegs + seam sealed) add a Tyvek groundsheet 171g and you still have an under 2kg tent at a good price.

That is the problem with naming a product.
If it is too similar to another it can be confusing, if it is very different it may not make sense.
Usually , whatever brilliant name comes to mind it will be already used by another brand.
At TT as soon as Henry has a new drawing, it gets a working name. Then one of us will call it something else and by the time it is ready for the market yet another name will be chosen.
The final choice is a totally democratic one based on a vote.
By that I mean a single vote because Henry is the only one with voting rights.
