Keen Targhee Mid II: event or keen dry versions?

Hi folks,

Has anyone seen the two versions of this?

Some websites refer to them having event instead of Keen Dry. The Keen site refers to them being 'revamped' with Keen Dry, while one reseller site says "They're now even better with Event lining" (unclear if they were originally something else completely), then Event, and now Keen Dry).

Assuming I have my pick, I'm wondering which version to choose...

Cheers, Bruce

Hi Bruce - I've had both, and they were both good. My understanding is that they used to use event, but changed to their own proprietary brand. They are both very efficient, only losing effectiveness when the tops get strongly creased after lots of use, or when the soles develop cracks (funny that! )

I love Keens for everyday walking and day walks, though I wouldn't use them for big trips. However I have friends, incl. my wife :) who use them for their main walking. They love their light weight and quick drying properties, even if they're not as hard-wearing as leather boots.

cheers

Peter

I have the Keen Oregon PCT with Keen Dry. It lasted between 2 and 6 days walking, now leek a lot. But otherwise my favorite boot, especially for day walks etc.
