With winter setting upon us, I found some great information here regarding the maximisation of your down bag.

Thanks for that, a great link. The only problem I found with the site is white writting on black back ground, is it just me or is this hard work on your eyes?? (I suffer from migranes where I see an aura, maybe it reminds me too much of this)
Thanks again
Anne

Off topic, but if you use Firefox try the Readability add-on (
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/readability/). I use it all the time for websites like this. It basically renders everything in a standard-sized column of black text on white background.

I use a radiant vapour barrier in severe cold weather to crank up the warmth factor.
My current one

For me severe cold = < - 10C*.
And a beanie, that adds warmth as well for us baldies!

I have sewn 4 velcro tabs on the top side of my WM SummerLite and 4 matching velcro tabs on the inside of my Fairdown down puffer jacket. On colder nights I simply velcro my down jacket atop my sleeping bag. Simple enough way to boost the bag warmth. I am a big guy and it is a tight fit inside the bag so wearing the down jacket inside the bag is not an option.
