Vasque, durability?

Hi,

I spent a half day trying on boots. The most comfortable that I tried seem to be Vasque Ranger. seemed to be because they seemed a little large but a size down was definitely too small but the shop didn't have the half size between in stock. Anyway, I more than a few reviews complaining about the quality since manufacturing left Italy. Leather failing, outer fabric failing and exposing the Gore-Tex. All seemed to be saying the same thing after a few months wear. Just wondering if anyone here has experienced problems with them?

I also wanted to ask if Gore-Tex boots are usually completely sealed including the tongue fold or is this something I need to ask about?

Regards,
Ken

I've got a pair of Wasatch GTX. I've used them for probably around 200km. Some of it has been in fairly rocky terrain. They are showing some signs of abrasion from the rock. A few guages. But overall they're holding together well so far. I got them because they were the only ones that came wide enough.

Mine are going very well, best boot I have owned for my feet (very wide) I got them on sale for half the retail so if they last a few years I will be happy but no signs of them falling apart yet. Once again I do mainly rocky trail walking so nothing too out there.
