Hey All!
Any suggestions or the best type, or make your own, seprate fly for sheltered cooking in the rain? About to head on a multi in the next few weeks with 3-4 people so trying to source a nice light option so we can cook communally.
Thanks
ak

Hi ak,
I use a WE (Wilderness Equipment) one when doing guiding trips. I use the 3x4 metre ones, great for groups and so handy to sleep under too! I just got back from the overland sleeping under one. They are pretty reasonably priced too.

Despite the extra weight when with a group ( and especially with kids ) bigger is better with this application, I used a 4m*3m when i had my kids a few years ago and kept wishing it was twice the size, also take an extra pole; you don't always have trees in exactly the right spot

I always take a separate fly - normally 3x4m. Made first one from 1oz sailcloth -about 600g. Recently given an integral designs silitarp 2. It's 2.8x 3.5m I think and only ~450g. Even better, and more w/proof than the sail cloth.
Lovely to have somewhere to stand when it's bucketing down rain.
