Hi guys, first time here..
Just wondering about torches. I'm looking for a light compact preferably water resistant at a minimum torch with a range of at least 200m. I spend quite a lot of time up in the Grampians mountain biking as well as night sailing in port Philip and really need a new torch because my Maglite doesnt cut it. I was having a look at the LED lenser M14 which is I think $90 on ebay or $149 in store. Im happy to go up to around $120.
Any ideas? Also one other thing - opinions on the Leatherman Charge TTI multi-tool?

Have a look at the Ultrafire Cree torches at dealextreme or similar sites. I got a few 200 lumen ones powered by rechargeable cr123 batteries. Very cheap. Very bright.

Have exactly what you want, great price, waterproof. Have 200+ lumen torches that run on a single AA, or 750 lumen torches that run on 1x 18650 rechargeable.

Those charge TTi are an awesome tool. A mate has one and I found it more useable than my Swiss army. He doesn't carry it around much anymore due to the weight and found that it was simply not getting used on his bushwalks. So it depends what you intend to use it for.
Leathermans are not indestructible tho. I have gone thru 3 blades on the wave but their lifetime warranty took care of it

Being a bit of a torch freak the best in my humble opinion is the Jetbeam Raptor series. Infinitely adjustable power level in a simple ring control and full waterproofing and high quality feel clinch the deal. 200 metres means that you are after a good throwing torch. I am not sure if the RRT0 can get that far though. I like that it can run on AA or CR123 batteries and that makes it very handy. It is my favourite torch running with CR123 batteries as very compact. If you need power then a 18650 torch is the bee's knees. I have the the one and three cell models. Both superb but honestly the 3 cell version need to come with its own truck to haul it.
For the small end Fenix make a lovely AAA torch but that is not going to get to 200 metres but at around 85 lumens it is remarkable.
