TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Nest / Mesh Shelter recommendations

Postby flyinglion2000 » Fri 23 Dec, 2011 9:17 pm

Hello and Merry Christmas to everyone.

I have an MSR Zing wing (like Moss Outfitter wing) and am looking for a nest /mesh shelter to go underneath the wing. Much like the Outfitter.net went with the Outfitter wing. See pic

What would be a comparable substitute for the Outfitter.Net?

I looked at a GoLite Shangri-La 6 nest but it is now discontnued and unavailable and probably hard to get 2nd hand. A Shangri-La 2 nest is a little too small for my needs - I would like to be able to stand up in it and move around without ducking too much to avoid my head striking the netting roof. An SL5 might be suitable.

Ideally I'd like a removable floor in case for example I have to pitch the wing and nest over terrain that would damage a floor (or over a fixed picinc table) but that may create more problems than it would solve.

All suggestions and recommendations greatly appreciated.

best regards

Cameron

Gday Cameron,

Hitchiking on the forum here has started making mesh inners for tarps. Check his website www.terrarosagear.com (mind you Im not sure if they're on there...perhaps check the custom section). I know there were photos posted on the Facebook page the other day so perhaps if you like the terrarosagear page you can definitely see them there. Im sure you could get him to do a custom job.

I've got no financial ties with him.. Just a very happy customer. I've bought a tarp from him and had a couple of inners made. His gear is top notch and I highly recommend him. In fact ive just posted him my beloved SL3 to be converted with floor and perimeter netting :-)
