Vango - ultralight gear

Hi guys

I'm looking to setup 2 friends with lightweight gear and replace some of my heavier gear with lightweight gear. I have seen the brand "Vango" with some pretty light gear (ie, tents, sleeping bags, etc) for a reasonable price. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on the quality of the brand, or could suggest better gear.

Also, if anyone could recommend a good store in the Sydney / Canberra area, to view / purchase some good lightweight hiking gear that I won't have to sell my soul to afford, it would be appriciated.

Thanks chris

With respect Vango Gear is at the lower end of the market and you will only get what you pay for.

Yeah I guessed it was entry level, but I have to enquire as I have two cheap *&%$#! friends whom want to get a basic set up and I'm trying to assist them with a setup that is cheap but lightweight. I've already told them that the quality and cheap don't mix. Any suggestions on stores or web sites I could research???

Thanks

You'll want to checkout some of Tarp Tents gear.

I have a Laser Comp 2 (although it's really just a one man tent with two doors) for sale. Inner only pitched once, unused fly. Light and some people like them . . .
