Well I started testing out this top that i recieved for reviewing. I did get it free but have no other connection to this brand or supplier, and i will call a spade a spade!
I have always been a firm believer in natural fibers, particularly marino and down being the ultimate in warmth... as such when i first saw the Brubeck top i thought the material was thin and couldn't do much.... i was wrong... way wrong!
Its fit is the most comfortable i have ever worn - easily. And i have just about been living in it ever since i first put it on. It is stretchy and skin tight, but made well and long enough that it stays in place and that you don't feel like you are wearing a boob tube after an hours walking. Being skin tight it does chill a bit in windy conditions but that is what base layers do - they are designed to have a wind blocker layer over the top. It wicks well and does not retain stinky sweat like some man made fibers do and dries fast ( probably as it is thin material). I find I forget it is even on half the time - untill i start to over heat. And although thin it did not rip when i decided to torture myself with some Tassie scrub mincing and again I was impressed. - you'd never know i tried to trash it, in fact.
It is definately worth the money and ANYONE who finds wool itchy needs to do themselves a favor and stick one of these on first - problem solved.
They do leggings in this range and I will now be buying a pair as they make them for $50 - good value. Its is cleverly made and woven and the seams are either non-existant or really small, flat and well paced away from straps or load bearing areas. It is odd... i dont feel instantly hot like in my merino tops but i seem to stay constantly comfortable in it - dunno how that works but it does work. When i sweat in merino - even really fine high end gear i get a mild itch but in snow with this top and only my wilderness wear merino over it i was really toasty ( i would normally have a polar fleece and jacket in the same conditions). I have been wearing it regularly for about a month now and washed it in the machiene without any special treatment and it has not lost any of its shape or stetch at all....A true base layer item from chilly Poland that actually works like they ought to. I could go on longer but really just get one -its worth it retail at only $75!!.
In a word this is IMPRESSIVE!!!
I don't often plug a product but i believe this one is worth it.
