Hi all, I am relatively new to hiking, and am wanting to start doing overnight hikes. I need to get a 3 person tent (for me and my partner, and sometimes maybe my 12 yr old daughter too). I've done a lot of searching and I've narrowed it down to these two -

The most important factors to me are -
Not more expensive than $250
Keeps the weather out
Sets up quick
Has good ventilation
Tough and long lasting
Can anyone give their opinion on which is the better choice? Or even if there's something else you feel is better still which comes in under $250? I'll be camping in and around SE Qld (Lamington, Springbrook, D'Aguilar, etc). Thanks for the help!

I have the Vango Tempest 200 and for the price I paid (<$150AUD) it’s not a bad tent. It’s not the lightest tent but it is sturdy, intergral pitched and has a nice vestibule. Negatives, the tunnel design can be a bit of a punish getting in and out, especially with others in the tent and it doesn’t have the best ventilation.
I’m sure there are some other good options out there worth contemplating, especially with the never ending sales that seem to be happening at the moment.
