Gondwana jacket needs rewaterproofing. Any hints?

My 5 year old Gondwana jacket (I dont know the model but its not Goretex) no longer really keeps me dry. I have been to the camping store for some advice on what to use and they showed me some products but they weren't really sure what to suggest. I am not keen on throwing the waterproofing product they suggested into my washing machine. Does something like scotchguard work? Or should I try another spray on product? Brand names greatly appreciated :o

I have used Atkso silicone waterproof spray on a lot of gear and been very satisfied with its performance.

It does smell a bit when you spray it on so you have to hang it out in a garage, Once fully set there is no smell.

I have seen it at some cobblers shops or motor bike shops. I bought my spray from globetrekker,

Cheers

Thanks Paul - I sprayed it with this. Worked a treat. Just a warning to others though I sprayed it hanging on a coathanger on my clothes line. The grass under it is dead. And I mean really dead. I am not very popular at home as we have one of those bowling green lwans. Now it has a metre square patch of very dead bowling green

Thanks for the information on the grass. I have always sprayed my jackets over a concrete porch - so I was unaware of the side-effects

It's even better than round up! 2 days and a total kill of anything green in the area
