Hi all,
Does anyone know somewhere around Hobart you can buy those little sachets of jam/marmalade/peanut butter/vegemite like you get in motels etc. ? just been in the local Woolies and Coles and could only find Nutella.
If needs be I'll decant some into containers but it would be a lot more convenient if I could find some packs.
Cheers, Andy

It isn't what you're asking for, but if you can't find those, you can get a pack of 6 lightweight 'salad dressing' type containers in Woollies. there are 2 sizes - i use the smallest ones. 3 of them do me for a few days. They fit nicely with small crackers and cheese triangles into a takeaway food container. Very runny jam can leak a bit, but not a problem. Peanut butter and jam can of course be put into the one container for a shorter walk if desired.

I always used to pocket a few dozen on the ferry. No longer an option . . .

Saw those. I also have some other small screw top containers which will work, just thought the sachets would be neater and can be divid up for each day - didn't realise it would be quite as difficult as it seems.

On a recent overseas holiday, I managed to procure quite a few of these little condiment packets from the places were were staying at. I just really hoped my bags weren't going to be searched at customs, when we came back. I had visions of them spilling out all over the place, with my husband muttering things about crazy wife who steals things.....
PS the Qantas cutlery is really good. Lightweight, but very sturdy plastic, feels good. We've got a few sets now that might come in handy on some walks.....

Not in Hobart as such (actually in Victoria). If the quantity is too much, maybe see if a few people were interested, then you could do a "group buy"

Andy I have a heap of strawberry jam, Vegemite and orange marmalade portions that were left over at work when we changed our menu. You're welcome to them as I'm moving house and can't be bothered taking them with me..

Also if you have a McDonalds locally I've always just gone in and asked them for some for a few dollars. They usually give you a big bundle of them happily.
