I used to take minimal weight and effort meals but now have a food drier so I have spag.bol., beef stroganoff, Thai green curry, dhal, savoury mince or anything else that can be dried. Breakfast and lunch are more of an issue. I get tired of meusli very quickly so usually have Light and Tasty. I still haven't hit on good lunch meals for extended walks.

Lunches used to be a variety of things for me. I find the mountain bread great to take and have with either salami sticks, happy cow cheese (neither need refrigeration) or id take small jam, vegemite or peanut butter sachets which if you ask your friendly mcdonalds will happily give you or sell for a small fee. If cold a cuppa soup is gold.
I've always been gluten intolerant though happy to ignore it. These days my symptoms are a little to extreme to munch on bread etc for the week so Im at a loss these days. There's only so many gluten free bars I can enjoy on the trail ;-)

Same problem. I can do 2-3 days no problems, but beyond that and it gets boring... I dont like cooking at lunch so my dehy meals are out. Im happy to carry the weight of a nice lunch for a couple of days, but then i start looking to cut that down, which is when the boring part hits...

It is a 15g individually wrapped Salami available in both "hot" and "mild" made by Hans and should be available in your local Woolies and they sell for 99c each so that makes them $65.99 per kg

I think they need to be kept refrigerated and they are not individually wrapped,a bit like the loose twiggy sticks from the supermarket deli counter :)

The Hans Salami Sticks Mild 15g sounds very nice, I can see me cutting one of these up and putting it in a cupa soup or some fantastic noodles or just eat some with some mountain bread or wraps as a nice sandwich :)

Am thinking of making a Super Sandwich with dehydrated Tomato, lettuce, beetroot, onion, and Salami on Wraps or Mountain Bread, more like a Enchilada, sounds dooable and tasty. Add salt and pepper to taste :o.

You could add anything else you like too, I am just conventional when it comes to my Sandwiches.

Corvus GET ON it, See if it works, I would like to know :)

Would make a nice Lunch I think, if it works, that is.

Cheers.

/PS all the Dehydrated stuff would be put in a Ziplock bag and dehydrated about for about 30 minutes before add to the Sandwich.
