This might be of interest to some folks. Snowys[1], in South Australia, has Back Country Cuisine real cheap. Single serve mains come in at $8, for example. Five packs are $25. This is the cheapest I have seen in Australia and what's more, they do free postage to most of Australia. No, I don't work for them - they are just my local gear store.

Thank you. Of course, they don't stock my favourite Fish Pie, but it's still better value than any other supplier.

When I was in store they had the fish pie. Perhaps give them a call?

I just had one for lunch - the pasta vegetariano** - and it is best before 16/4/2017. So it's not as though it's old stock.

** I didn't really rate this one. It didn't have the freshness of, say, their beef strogg. And despite using 250ml of water the pasta wasn't fully rehydrated.

Thank you.

I use that Pasta Vegetariano as a base. Add some fish (you could use jerky), dried greens, lentils, olive oil, sea salt and black pepper. Comes up pretty well with the additives. :)

Just purchased some from Snowys - expiry date was July 2017 - so plenty of time to go!

Thanks for this.

How do the five serves come packaged? Can these be separated and used on different trips orrr?
