Has anyone tried the Settler's Foods dried mince product?
You can see the prices and products here:

The 1kg pack looks like a good way to go. I was thinking that this quantity could be stored at home and portions selected and packaged for different recipes. Once the package is opened, do you think the best thing is to store portions in the freezer or would it be okay to store it in an air-tight container or vacuum-packed at room temperature.

Thanks for the warning. The title of the product is somewhat misleading.

I bough a mixed dozen of the small packs a while back.
I've only tried the plain mince myself and found it ok.
eldest son & his girlfriend had another 4 of them & also thought they were alright (not sure how much was relating to flavour & how much due to dad paying)

I tried this in the kitchen, but found it was too salty and didnt end up taking it on my hike.
however while on the hike, i also found that i craved for saltier foods, probally due to loss of salt through sweating.
Maybe i used too much when testing it out.
