Thought I'd post this in a seperate topic.
Mainly for those who are interested in eating well and enjoying their food while they walk while not carrying too much weight. We use a trangia conversion with a shellite optimus, making it good for steaks etc.
We also have a dehydrator which does mean some forward planning is required to take dehydrated vegies.
Menu first, then packing list. My tables wouldn't copy and paste into here, so sorry about the layout.
I'm gluten free so limits our options somewhat and Mr Whisky takes a few things extra that I can't have (e.g. flat bread)
2 people, 4 or 5 nights (winter - more food required and cold stuff will last longer)
Day 1 - Bfast at home ,
Lunch - Scroggin, rice crackers, cheese, ham Extras - Soup, chocolate
Main meal - Chicken and rice, Fresh zucchini, Dehy. Potato, pumpkin + onion
Day 2 - Bfast - Rice Porridge + sultanas (milk), Tea, milo,
Lunch - Flat bread and crackers, cheese, mite and salmon rillette
Pre dinner - Soup
Main Meal - Mushroom + leek risotto (onion, garlic + parmesan) + lamb
Dessert - stewed fruit + custard
Day 3 - Rice Porridge + raisins
Lunch - Flat bread + rice crackers + assorted fillings
Pre dinner - Soup
Main Meal - Steak + veg. (dehy. potato, pumpkin etc.)
Dessert - stewed fruit + custard
Day 4 - Bfast - Rice Porridge + Prunes
Lunch - Flat bread + rice crackers + assorted fillings
Pre dinner - Soup
Main meal - Fried Rice (onion, leek, mushroom, peas, garlic, crispy bacon)
Dessert - stewed fruit + chocolate
Day 5 - Bfast - Rice Porridge + Currants
Lunch - Flat bread + rice crackers + assorted fillings
Pre dinner - Soup
Main meal - Rice Pasta + onion, leek, tomato, salami + parmesan
Dessert - stewed fruit + chocolate
Day 6 Extra if delayed Rice Porridge + dried pears leftovers

Cold Pack contents (most for first two days only):
300 g cheese
2 steaks, 2 chicken thighs, 2 lamb pieces (frozen)
Ham (first day lunch)
1 zucchini
Salami (whole, not sliced)
Butter
Parmesan cheese
Salmon rillette
Smoked salmon

Dry ingredients:
Powdered skim milk (6Litres)
Rice Porridge (10 serves)
Rice (6 serves)
Risotto (2 serves)
Rice Pasta (2 serves)
GF Custard (4 serves)
Soup mix (6 x 2 serves)
Dried Vegies, peas, beans, carrots & corn (12 day/person serves total)
Flat bread (1 packet) + gf home made flat bread (6 slices)
Sultanas, Currants, Raisins
Brown or raw sugar
Rice crackers (3 packets)


Dehydrated at home ingredients:
Onions
Garlic - flakes
Mushrooms
Potatoes, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrots (sliced),
Leeks
Pears, apples other fruit; extras for lunches
Tomato mix includes basil & garlic (enough for lunches sprinkle + flavouring + spag bog)

Additional meal additives:
Olive oil
Smoked Paprika
Basil
Pepper, Salt,
Dried chilli
Soy Sauce

Extras:
Scroggin, nuts
Dark chocolate
Tea bags (20)
Coffee (20 tsp)
Milo (30 heaped tsp)
Quik (15 heaped tsp)
Whisky (prn)

Lunch extras

Mitey mite
Vegemite
Nutella
medicinal purposes only of course
