Trout extravaganza ideas

G'day all

About to do a paddle from Strathgordon to Scotts Peak dam, and need a good recipie involving yet to be caught trout, that can be whipped up on a small fry pan, a pot and 2 MSR's. Main intent is to out-do my offsider who will be providing a Hawiian themed pizza night on the trip...

Haven't had the luxury of not having to carry everything on my back for some time, so any food matching guru's out there may also like to suggest a suitable beverage to go with it.

Over to you (with a slight sense of trepidation  )

Cheers

Pan fried trout in butter with almonds is simple and a classic. A sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley adds a nice finish. I would suggest an aged HUnter Semillon - all buttered toast and honey but dry, although they are a bit difficult to get in that style anymore.

On the same theme, butter, lemon juice and a bit of zest and fresh chopped dill is another simple classic. A Sav Blanc might be better there.

A dry crisp well chilled cider may work also.

But I have no idea really :-)

Thanks Gaye, sounds like something I could handle. Particularly like the cider suggestion too...

Cheers
