Has anybody got a Go Pro and if so what are they like. I'm thinking about getting one.

Hi Bap,
A mate of mine uses one that we use for action shots, they are great for domestic use and we are developing better ways of handling the vision for broadcast use.
Highly recommended - they are not real HD, but for the price they are excellent. The best results are achieved by using a specific post production workflow.
If you are going to get one let me know and I'll pass on advice from a pro camo(not me), and let you know how to edit with minimal quality loss.

I saw some awesome shots from the gopro hd but also came across the contour 1080 HD when reading reviews. I think I liked contour colours more and it has a less of a fisheye effect

*&%$#! Hell! The Surf version is only $300 US. That's including a 60m casing. It'd cope with most of my diving as well as all the walking and kayaking and bad weather. I may get myself one for Christmas. After I've paid for everything else, that is . . .
rego, new tyres, Tassie trip, kayak . . . OK, maybe next Christmas . . .

I've had a Contour 1080 for a couple of years. Has copped a real beating but still working great. Very robust, easy to use and excellent quality footage. The new models are waterproof and also a gps enabled one.
