Handy GPS is a great bushwalking app with support for Australian map datums. It works well in remote areas with no phone coverage too.

Another one that's in both Android & iOS is Runtastic, similar type of App that can be applied to a range of activities.

Agree. Great application, easy to use, imports exports, calculates declination if you need that.
Neat interface.
I loaded on my HTC Velocity and Samsung 7" tablet and went for a stroll.
Surprised how both were in sync with each other.
Thanks for posting.
I see their website has some interesting additional programs and information.
Even a conversion to account for tectonic plate movement and the associated datum shift. If that tickles your fancy.

I've found AlpineQuest to be fantastic. Offline and or online maps, location tracking, loading waypoints, compass, gps info displayed....

I am looking for an app that I can upload or sync a gpx file to and then navigate the route, same as I can go with my Garmin 60csx/Edge 810. Does such a beast exist? From what I have seen most apps track where one has been rather than guide you on following a predetermined course.
Thanks
Andrew

AlpineQuest allows this, as do others I assume.

Osmand does that, and it works well. However, Osmand is such a powerful app that it takes a while to work out how to drive it.

Try OruxMaps:
http://www.oruxmaps.com/index_en.htmlThis is an excellent Android app which offers route navigation (follow a route) as well as waypoint navigation (follow a series of individual waypoints).
