If you like to know what type of geology you're standing on, you might be interested in Macrostrat and the mobile app Rockd

Has good coverage of most places including Australia and New Zealand. The app works well, even kind of works off-line sometimes. Doesn't provide an in-depth amount of info but enough for me. Includes the Stratigraphic Name, so you can always find out more if you want to.
