Can anyone recommend a GPS app for an iPhone? I don't want to pay for a Garmin, but need an app that uses my phones and gives me all the normal GPS features for bushwalking. I had a mate who suggested viewranger - its pretty cheap but has anyone on here used it?

I use Memory Map Free. It works well and the maps are reasonably priced ($65 per State for all 1:25000 and 1:100,000)
P.s. W.A. doesn't seem to exist however (nor does SA and NT for that matter).

I use mud map for topo maps and gps kit for other gps functions.
This is only an addition to using a real gps in my case a 60csx

Just looking at Mudmaps, is it just me are there no Topo maps of a small (i.e. 1:100,000 or better) scale available?

+1 for Mud-maps 1:25k maps can be bought and downloaded as reqd
Bitmap is good if you have a printed maps you want to digitize (fiddly process tho)
Motion-X includes basic topo maps and a heap of handy features

Thanks for the reviews. Have downloaded mud maps and view ranger and will try them both - will post again with feedback!
