Water must have been the theme this month. Congratulations johnw - nice colours. I must say that I really like that well placed shrub in (middle left of) the Gloucester Falls shot.

Thanks MJD. Yes definitely a water month. I chose that shot because the colours contrast with most waterfall shots I've taken, which often emphasise ferny rainforest foliage, mossy rocks etc. Well done on your outstanding photo too :). I'd like to know how you got the subject to stand still on that log, with that enormous pack, for what looks like a reasonably long exposure . The voting was quite close and I think realistically any of the three entries had a good chance of winning. Yes, that shrub in iandsmith's excellent shot reminds me of a bonsai. I'd really like to see more entries in the next Australia comp. I'm starting to get the impression that Ian and myself are the only forum members who bushwalk on the mainland or in NZ, and own cameras .

Well done ILUVSWTAS :). The log does look slippery, it would probably take me half an hour to shuffle across that thing. Looks like a nice spot though. Don't worry, I'm no giant either and my fully loaded pack looks much the same size 8).

Lol thanks!
I actually had my foam bedroll attached to the outside of my pack so that made it look much bulkier.

Don't forget you've got until Sunday night to get your entries in for the June comp. If you don't have a photo ready yet there's still time to get out into the bush between now and then. The weather forecast looks good for this weekend in a lot of places. :)

Doh! Let me re-phrase that. You do have until Sunday night to enter your June photo. However, unless you own a time machine, taking a photo in the actual month of June is somewhat difficult.
But get out there anyway and take one for July :).
