What an amazing collection of pictures! Vote here (using the form above) for the 2008 photo of the year competition. The winner will win the annual 'Bushwalk Tasmania Cup' with their winning photo on it. Anyone else can purchase the cup from the shop once it becomes available. Note that the 2007 cup will no longer be available after the 2008 winner is decided so don't forget to purchase the 2007 collectors item before it's too late.

NB: You can vote for up to THREE photos, and you can CHANGE YOUR VOTE as often as you like until the poll closes (eg, if one or more of the photos you voted for look like they're not going to win, you can change your vote to have another say to help decide between those photos that do look like they might win).

Note that the photo of the year cup (featuring the winning photo) will not only be awarded to the winning photographer, but one voter who voted for the winning photo (chosen at random) will also win their own 2008 photo of the year cup!

With only four days remaining to finalise the vote, it is time to remind you that you can change your vote in this competition at any time before the poll closes on the 3rd of April.

This way it's a bit like preferences. If it looks like one or more of the photos you voted for are definitely out of the running, you can still get to have a say by re-voting for photos that look like they are still in the running.

Ok, I will be voting for the photo I like the most rather than having a speculative vote and trying to win BWT 2008 cup :) . I know by doing this this I will have no chance of winning which leads me to the question: Is it wise to base the "voters prize" on the most popular photo? I would think that structuring the competition in this way may skew the results. I would liken this style of speculative voting to speculation in the stock market (i.e. we have a stock whose price appears to be rising ahead of other stocks. I have no preference for said stock apart from the fact that I believe it may be the "winner" out of the stocks I have considered).

Not that it matters I suppose :P

Fair point. I won't change it now for this year, but it's something to consider for next time.

Well done Tas-man - it really is a cracker of a shot, and looks great in my 2009 BWT calendar. I'll be sending out the 2008 BWT Cup to you (as soon as I've designed it!).

Congratulations also to iandsmith who was chosen at random from the list of people who voted for the winning photo. You'll also get a photo of the year cup.

More information on the cup, will become available once I've designed it (around the winning photo).

The Photo of the Year Bushwalk Tasmania Cup is now in production. One is on its way to both tas-man and iandsmith.

There is also a photo Stein available (for beer or for large cups of tea).

You can order your own at: http://bushwalk.com/shop

Here's what they look like:

These items are sold at cost price, and nobody at BWT makes any money from them.
