stepbystep missed your question. [Although I see he is contemplating it - crossover ]
The Sprent ascent is a climb to the top of Mt Sprent which is at the end of the road at the Serpentine Dam past Strathgordon.
The waterways in the background are all Lake Peddar.

I feel like a bit of a fraud to dare enter the comp.
Congratulations MJD, lovely shot and would love to have been seeing the scene through the eyes of the person in your photo. Loved Lake Curly, would have got my vote had I not plugged my own
Eggs, mine was very early morning at Lake Silver on a Strollers walk, - I was half expecting to see two other entries from that morning. The conditions shown only lasted about half an hour, Flyfisher was up and about(and took photos), Sthughes may have been awake(not sure), and L8r dragged his butt out of bed .....well, L8r It was beautifully wierd, never seen anything like it. A real photographer would have made the most of the scene.The only conscious thing I did when I opened the tent (apart from wiping the sleep from my eyes), was lining up the two rocks in the foreground. Anyway - it's made me think about gearing up and skilling up.
I am glad it got more votes than Strollers present.

Don't sell yourself short, please keep entering. That shot is mesmerising . All the entries were an extremely high standard and it was difficult to pick one.

Geoskid,
I might get dragged over the coals for saying this, but my goal in landscape/wilderness photography is mainly time and place.
Most of the work for a good photo is getting the right light at the right angle.
That is why I prefer morning or evening.
There are nice photos in the middle of the day, but morning and evening is a different and often magical kind of light.
So you can measure some good photos by the effort you took to get there, the combination of the elements, and the discipline and good sense to actually get up to look at it!! And you took a great one.

Wow! Some pretty stiff competition in there. Love the shot of Curly and the Golden Silver. Certainly a good month to be out and about with a lot of morning and evening mist making for some very artistic shots. The bushwalker in the photo is none other than ILUVSWTAS whose entry had been taken a little earlier on the same day.
