Gorgeous pic tom_brennan, a whirlpool in a corkscrew! Beautiful composition.
Congrats to all, some great pics this month for sure.

Congratulations Tom, that's a terrific shot! :) First time we've seen a Blue Mountains canyon in the photo comp I think?
Great photos from everyone again this month, I think I'll have to invest in some better gear!

SBS I really liked your Campbell to Cradle shot. The one time I attempted to go up Mt Campbell (from the Hanson saddle) I was confronted by track closed sign.
Has that been re-opened, or is there an alternate way up?

Thanks John, the sign is still there - I didn't see it until I was coming down, honest
Don't see why it was closed as it gives a great view of Cradle and the plateau is a very nice place to explore.

You could always go off-track to go up....

Thanks SBS, maybe that's the way to go If I get another opportunity...

Thanks johnw, stepbystep. Well done to everyone who entered. It was another tight competition as evidenced by a wide spread of votes, and winning with only 26% of the vote!

Interestingly that's only the second vertically oriented photo to win the Australia comp. And the first vertical landscape, as the other one was an animal. There's quite a few months that don't feature any portrait shots at all. The poor cousin of the landscape shot :)

Someone from Parks told a friend of mine that it was because too many tourists were going up there and getting lost, it's all flat on top and as there is no "highway" track, if it gets clouded in while they're having a look around, they're stuffed! So if I was going up I would use the track (so as not to cause any more off-track scarring), but only if the track was suitable for use.
THIS is on top of Mt Campbell.

Great photos everyone! I voted for the lighthouse image, but like others it was NOT easy to pick just one.
