Gone Panasonic LX100 for Bushwalking/BikePacking

Sat 04 Jun, 2016 1:11 pm

Wanting to stay in the micro four thirds ecosystem but not wanting to have to keep camera and lens seperate, particularly on bikepacking/touring I was considering a Panasonic GM1 or GM5 but when I tried one, the size was just too small for me so I ended up with what I think is a reasonable comprise, a new to me Panasonic Lumix LX100.

It weighs in at 405 grams with battery so there goes my ultralight base weigt but still it is reasonably compact, well much more compact than my Olympus OM-D EM-1 :).

The LX100 is a great camera. I particularly like two features on the LX series (I have an older LX7). First the ability to mount a polarising filter and second the ability to change to aspect ratio of photos on the camera.
