Good for sports photographers and wildlife/birders I guess. And good for anyone wanting to pick up a Sony Full frame Camera other than the a1 because I bet the pricing on the others will drop.

Yeah the specs are nice. You'd damn well want them to be at the price.

the prices of high spec camera just havent come down with time.... they are in a price range all of their own...

You could even argue they have gone up a fair amount. I bought a 1Dx when it launched and from memory I think I paid about $7k. At the time, it was a beast of a camera.
I'd love that Sony with the same sensor, and modest processing and price - I really don't need video or high frame rate stills these days.

yeah the price is increasing as the technology does... the latest compact sony RX100's have hte same price as some SLR's and mirrorless cameras...

Yeah they are expensive little cameras too. My RX100 m3 is still going strong and I hope I don't have to replace it any time soon. It's what I take walking actually. 400 odd grams isn't too bad for the quality you can get out of it. I've taken my dSLR gear all over the world over the years, but I can't really justify the weight while bushwalking. Not unless it's the main reason I'm heading to a location.
