OT Transport 21 - 27 Nov 2014

Postby lajs » Sat 18 Oct, 2014 8:53 pm

Hello,

Looking for anybody starting the walk on the 21st of Nov. to combine transport.
A friend and I are planning to either catch a bus from Launceston, and back to Launceston from Lake St Clair.
or
Drive from Launceston to Cradle Mountain or Lake St Clair, and catching a bus to CM (either before or after the walk).

Please reply if you are interested in combining transport either by car or bus on these dates.
Also please reply if you have any advice re: ot transport.

Thanks
lajs

Hi,

I would like to do this track around the same time. I've read about it but I am not familiar with this area. Would be possible for me to join you and your friend to do the track?! And transportaion.

Thanks
Lorena

Hi My girlfriend and I are planning on doing this walk around the same date, we are looking at driving to Lake St Clair from Devonport then trying to catch bus to start of walk at Cradle mountain, that way our car is at the finish of the track. If the bus from Launceston to Cradle Mountain goes via Lake St Clair we could hop on here and that may reduce costs for all

Hi Lorena and Moorey,

The best plan I have is to catch the bus from Launceston - Cradle. It's a McDermotts bus which doesn't go via lake saint clair.
After the walk we are planning to catch the Tassielink coach to Launceston via Hobart, which is a huge trip but seems like the only option for me.
A private shuttle can take people from Lake St Clair - Cradle but it's a bit out of my budget.

If you are flying to Tassie, why not arrive in Launceston and depart from Hobart?

Tassielink services both ends so you just need to plan your walk itinerary to fit in with the bus schedule.
