Overland track transport nov 1 - 4 (cup w/e)

Hi,
Party of 4 looking to do the overland on Melbourne cup weekend. We are flying in/out of Launceston (arr. fri 31st PM, dep. wed 5th early AM), and are looking into cheapest transport options to Cradle mtn, and from lake st Clair.
Anyone else doing the walk that weekend? Looking to join a group to cut down travel costs to this walk.
